One of America's favorite TV doctors made a "house-call" to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Patrick Dempsey, who plays Dr. Derek Shepherd on the hit show Grey's Anatomy, switched roles to co-drive the No. 54 Supercuts Ford Mustang GT for Hyper Sport in the Grand Am Koni Challenge GS Race. Dempsey, a long-time race enthusiast made five Grand Am Cup starts in 2006, and is even a part-owner of the Vision Racing team in the IndyCar Series. "Racing is something I really need in my life right now," Dempsey told Details Magazine. "The excitement of it calms me down, oddly enough. You're in the car and you're alone. It's a complete escape from everything." Away from the track, Dempsey has starred in feature films including Can't Buy Me Love, Scream 3, With Honors, and Outbreak. He was named one of People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2006 and has appeared on TV shows including The Practice and Will and Grace. The Grand Am Koni Challenge Series comes to Homestead-Miami Speedway, April 13-15
